Paintings and photographs at the castle of Gratot - Coutances

2008 Château de Gratot 4 km de Coutances

The rooms of the castle welcome, until July 30, the paintings of Annabelle Malo, Anne Ruinetet Valérie Francisque, as well as the photographs of Loïc Vizzini. Paintings. Of Burgundian origin, and, "shaped by the lights of the great Moroccan south and the flavors of Provence," Anne Ruinet developed her artistic approach at the Ecole Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques et d'Architecture de Paris. The artist, "passionate about life and the good things of the land", offers a "culinary stroll" through her paintings where she tries to develop a new aesthetic by playing on transparency, light and research of colors. Her acrylics on canvas, (macaroons, cheeses, quinces, clementines...), make your mouth water, before discovering the "Journey" proposed by Annabelle Malo. Oscillating between figurative and abstract, her paintings, with acrylic and knives, have a contemporary connotation. "I like the mixture of colors. Painting also gives the opportunity to convey expressions of warmth, sensuality and sensitivity," says Annabelle Malo. The third exhibition of paintings, to be discovered in the same room, is presented by Valerie Francisque, which she entitled "Air and Sea". Logical for the one who was born by the sea, in La Rochelle. One can find in her very colorful acrylics, "colors are to give joy to people, the world is not so happy", calligraphic influences from Japan, a country where she lived for some time. Photographs. In another room of the castle, Loïc Vizzini proposes to discover about twenty black and white photographs. Entitled Au fil de soi [e], the exhibition retraces the countries of the Silk Road, such as Mongolia, China and Pakistan, which Loïc Vizzini regularly visits, with his silver camera slung over his shoulder. The Parisian photographer has notably been able to capture "the imprints left by the long years of Soviet occupation in Mongolia". Practical. Castle of Gratot (4 km from Coutances).
